Gamecity Hamburg has launched the second round of its prototype funding program.<\/p>\n
The initiative allows startups and small to medium-sized enterprises to apply for up to \u20ac80,000 in non-repayable funding to develop digital video games.<\/p>\n
The local fund is only open to developers and development communities based in Hamburg (or who plan to relocate their headquarters or open a branch in the region).<\/p>\n
A mandatory consultation with Gamecity Hamburg must be completed before the submission deadline on September 24, 2026, to ensure applicants are prepared for the process.<\/p>\n
Applications will also need to provide a short project outline and information on whether generative AI will be used. A financial contribution of at least 20 percent of the eligible development costs is also expected and must be budgeted for.<\/p>\n
In an FAQ on the Gamecity Hamburg website, the organization stressed that applications should already have a “marketable prototype.”<\/p>\n
