# Juliet Starling Returns: Lollipop Chainsaw Set for Live-Action Adaptation

The iconic cheerleader-turned-zombie-slayer is officially trading her console controller for the silver screen. Dragami Games, the studio currently spearheading the franchise’s resurgence, confirmed during Tokyo Game Show 2026 that a live-action Lollipop Chainsaw feature film is currently in production.

This cinematic expansion marks a significant milestone for the cult-classic series, which has seen a massive surge in interest following the announcement of a video game sequel and a planned anime series.

## A Prequel to the Bubblegum Chaos The plot centers on the early days of the undead uprising. As a catastrophic zombie outbreak tears through her high school, Juliet Starling is forced into a desperate battle for survival. The narrative will focus on her mission to safeguard her family and friends, all while navigating the bizarre, “unconventional arrangements” required to keep her boyfriend, Nick, by her side.

## Expanding the Franchise Universe The production is being helmed by a diverse, international creative team, featuring Joe Teng of Nada Holdings. While specific casting details remain under wraps, the involvement of a global production house suggests a high-budget approach to the franchise’s distinct visual style.

As the industry continues to see a 20% year-over-year increase in game-to-film adaptations, Dragami Games is positioning itself to capitalize on the nostalgia of the original fanbase while introducing the chainsaw-wielding protagonist to a new generation of viewers.

Rather than retelling the narrative of the 2012 Grasshopper Manufacture original, the upcoming film will serve as a prequel. According to reports from Deadline, the project is being crafted as an R-rated action comedy, staying true to the franchise’s signature blend of gore and campy humor.

The move to film is part of a broader strategy by Dragami Games to cement *Lollipop Chainsaw* as a multi-media powerhouse. In an era where video game adaptations-such as *The Last of Us* and *Fallout*-have proven that interactive stories can thrive in live-action formats, Dragami is betting that Juliet’s unique aesthetic and high-octane combat will translate effectively to theaters.
