In a significant shake-up for their Counter-Strike 2 division, Team Liquid has officially granted Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek his release, making him a free agent. This move marks the conclusion of a challenging 16-month period for the organization, as reported by Dust2.us. The decision to part ways follows a strategic pivot in leadership that began this past July, when the team opted to bench siuhy in favor of bringing in Johnny “JT” Theodosiou to take over the in-game leader (IGL) responsibilities.

When siuhy first transitioned to the Liquid lineup in April 2025-arriving on loan from MOUZ-expectations were sky-high. Tasked with stabilizing a roster that had cycled through the leadership styles of veterans like Casper “cadiaN” Møller and Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, siuhy was viewed as the tactical architect who could finally bring consistency to the squad. Unfortunately, the synergy required to compete at the highest level never materialized.

The statistics from his tenure paint a picture of a team struggling to find its identity. While the roster managed a respectable top-four placement at FISSURE Playground #2, these flashes of brilliance were few and far between. Most notably, the team’s performance on the biggest stage-the Majors-was underwhelming. Across three separate Major appearances, Liquid failed to advance to the playoffs even once, finishing with a disappointing 5-11 record in high-stakes matches. To put this in perspective, in the hyper-competitive landscape of modern CS2, where top-tier teams often maintain win rates exceeding 60% in premier events, Liquid’s inability to secure deep runs became a primary catalyst for this roster overhaul.

With siuhy now officially off the books, Team Liquid finds itself with an open slot and a clear mandate to rebuild. While the organization has yet to announce a permanent successor to fill the void left by the Polish talent, the shift toward JT suggests that Liquid is prioritizing a different tactical philosophy to move past the stagnation of the previous year. As the team looks to regain its status as a global contender, the focus will undoubtedly be on integrating a player who can complement the current core and restore the winning culture that fans have come to expect from the Liquid banner.
