The viral cooperative sensation Peak, which captured the hearts of PC gamers with its chaotic physics and mountain-climbing antics, appears to be preparing for a jump to home consoles. Recent filings from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) have officially listed the title for the PlayStation 5, signaling that a port is imminent.

Since its debut on Steam, Peak has become a staple for friend groups looking for a low-stakes, high-hilarity experience. The core gameplay loop involves navigating treacherous, gravity-defying peaks using a mix of specialized gear and sheer teamwork. Much like the frantic coordination required in titles such as Overcooked or Human: Fall Flat, the game thrives on the inevitable failures and slapstick accidents that occur when players attempt to scale impossible heights together.

The game’s accessibility has been a massive driver of its success. Priced at a modest $8, it serves as a “no-brainer” purchase for social gaming circles. This strategy has paid off handsomely; as of August 2025, the title has surpassed 10 million units sold, cementing its status as a modern indie powerhouse.

While developers often keep their cards close to their chests, an ESRB rating is widely considered one of the most reliable indicators of an upcoming release. With the game now officially vetted for the PS5, an announcement from the studio is likely just around the corner.

The industry is now watching to see if this release will be a timed exclusive or the start of a broader multi-platform rollout. While there is currently no confirmation regarding an Xbox or Nintendo Switch 2 version, the game’s massive popularity suggests that a wider console release would be a logical next step for the developers to maximize their reach.

For those eager to track the official release date or see if cross-platform play will be supported, you can find further updates here:

A Phenomenon Built on Collaborative Chaos
