Investing in the iPhone Duo is a significant commitment. With a starting price that sits firmly in the premium category, the cost only climbs higher as you opt for increased storage capacities. For many users, the prospect of an out-of-warranty repair is a major concern, as the specialized nature of foldable technology often leads to steep service fees if you lack the protection of an AppleCare plan.

The entry-level model, equipped with 256GB of storage, carries a $1,999 price tag. For power users who require maximum space, the 2TB configuration reaches a staggering $3,199. To put this into perspective, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at a more accessible $1,199.

While the iPhone Duo is undeniably expensive by traditional smartphone standards, its pricing strategy is consistent with the current landscape of high-end foldable devices. It competes directly with flagship foldables such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold, both of which occupy a similar luxury tier in the mobile market.

Beyond the initial purchase price, prospective owners must factor in the recurring expense of AppleCare. Given that foldable screens and complex hinge mechanisms are more susceptible to wear and tear than standard glass-and-metal slabs, relying on standard warranties may not be sufficient. Industry data suggests that foldable screen repairs can cost upwards of $600 to $800 without a service plan, making the added cost of AppleCare a practical necessity rather than an optional luxury for long-term ownership.

Pricing Tiers and Market Positioning
