### Babybay Eyes VCT China Move Following G2 Esports Departure

As the 2027 competitive VALORANT landscape begins to take shape, veteran player Andrej “babybay” Francisty is reportedly scouting opportunities within the VCT China circuit. This shift comes in the wake of G2 Esports’ strategic decision to part ways with the star, a move first brought to light by *Sheep Esports*.

While no formal contracts or specific team affiliations have been finalized, insiders suggest that babybay’s time in the region during VALORANT Champions Shanghai left a lasting impression. His preference to remain in China is driven by his positive experiences during the tournament, making the region his primary focus for the upcoming season.

### Strategic Roster Overhaul at G2 Esports

The decision to pivot away from babybay was finalized by G2 management well before the commencement of Champions Shanghai. In a bid to refresh their lineup for 2027, the organization is reportedly finalizing a deal to acquire Eduardo “Sato” Nagahama. Sato, who previously showcased his talents with Leviatán throughout the most recent VCT Americas campaign, is expected to fill the vacancy left by the departing veteran.

This roster adjustment arrives despite a highly successful year for G2. The team’s performance at Champions Shanghai was a standout, securing a top-four finish after navigating a challenging group stage and eliminating formidable opponents like 100 Thieves and T1. This momentum followed a dominant run earlier in the year, which included a championship title at VCT Americas Stage 1 and a successful qualification for Masters Santiago.

### The Growing Appeal of the Chinese VALORANT Scene

The VCT China league has rapidly evolved into a premier destination for international talent. With the region’s infrastructure maturing and local viewership numbers consistently climbing-often reaching hundreds of thousands of concurrent viewers during major events-it is no surprise that established pros like babybay are looking eastward. As the global ecosystem continues to integrate, the cross-pollination of talent between the Americas and China is likely to become a defining trend of the 2027 season.
