Since its inception on the beaches of Goa in 2007, the Sunburn Festival has cemented its status as a cornerstone of India’s electronic dance music landscape. Over the past 17 years, the brand has evolved from a regional beach party into a national powerhouse, consistently bridging the gap between global EDM icons and the Indian fanbase. Following the momentum of its 2025 flagship event in Mumbai, the festival is set to return to the city for a high-octane two-day experience on December 18-19, 2026, taking over the iconic Mahalaxmi Race Course.

The organizers have officially unveiled the first wave of talent, promising a diverse sonic experience. The initial headlining roster features a blend of pop-crossover appeal and pure electronic energy, including The Chainsmokers, Sebastian Ingrosso, DJ Snake, and Jason Derulo. This selection highlights the festival’s strategy of blending chart-topping vocalists with legendary dance music producers to attract a broader demographic of music lovers.

The 2026 edition is characterized by a complex logistical dance, as several headliners are balancing festival sets with multi-city tours. The Chainsmokers are set to kick off their weekend at the Mumbai festival on December 18. This performance serves as the launchpad for a three-city Indian tour, which includes a stop at the Indian Sneaker Festival in Delhi on December 19 and a Sunburn Arena show in Bengaluru on December 20. Their enduring popularity in India, fueled by massive radio hits like Closer and Don’t Let Me Down, remains a primary driver for ticket sales.

Similarly, the schedule for DJ Snake reflects the high demand for international talent across the subcontinent. He is slated to perform at the Sunburn Arena at NICE Grounds in Bengaluru on December 18, before making a rapid transit to Mumbai to headline the main stage the following day. This rapid-fire touring schedule underscores the growing maturity of the Indian live music market, which now frequently hosts international acts for back-to-back performances in major metropolitan hubs.

A Star-Studded Lineup for 2026
