Montreal’s iconic Old Port is set to transform into a frozen dance floor once again as Igloofest prepares for its 19th annual celebration. Running from January 14 through February 6, 2027, the festival continues its tradition of turning the harsh Canadian winter into an immersive electronic music experience. This year’s creative direction, titled “Face the Beast,” encourages attendees to lean into the subzero climate rather than hide from it. With the event’s growing popularity, organizers are projecting an impressive turnout of nearly 100,000 electronic music enthusiasts throughout the month-long festivities.

The 2027 roster is arguably one of the most diverse in the festival’s history, spanning four consecutive weekends of high-octane performances. The current headlining bill features industry titans including deadmau5, Boris Brejcha, and the legendary Fatboy Slim. Fans can also look forward to sets from bass-heavy acts like Subtronics, the infectious house rhythms of James Hype and Chris Lorenzo, and the genre-bending sounds of KETTAMA, Ninajirachi, Fcukers, and Frost Children. While this initial announcement is substantial, festival producers have hinted that additional artists will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Beyond the main stages, the festival is expanding its footprint. The fan-favorite companion event, Igloofete, is returning with a completely redesigned format scheduled for January 16, 23, 30, and February 6. Furthermore, those looking to extend the party can anticipate the full reveal of the Apres-Ski programming, which is slated for release this December.

The festival’s opening weekend sets a high bar for the weeks to follow. On Thursday, January 14, local hero and Grammy-winning producer KAYTRANADA will command the Sapporo Stage, supported by a special DJ set from his frequent collaborator, Lou Phelps. The momentum continues on Friday, January 15, with James Hype, who is expected to bring his signature technical precision and rapid-fire mixing style to the Old Port. The inaugural weekend concludes on Saturday, January 16, with Chris Lorenzo, whose gritty, bass-driven house music is perfectly suited for the festival’s industrial, waterfront backdrop.

The second weekend of the festival promises a nostalgic yet cutting-edge experience, headlined by the UK’s big beat pioneer, Fatboy Slim. As a veteran who has shaped the trajectory of dance music for decades, his presence underscores Igloofest’s ability to bridge the gap between legendary status and modern electronic trends. Much like how the festival itself has evolved from a niche local gathering into a global winter destination, Fatboy Slim’s enduring influence remains a cornerstone of the dance music community.
