A Recent Leak Suggests Yes

The gaming community is buzzing with speculation regarding the technical capabilities of GTA 6 on Sony’s latest hardware. While Rockstar Games has remained tight-lipped, a now-deleted post from the official PlayStation France social media account has provided the strongest evidence yet that the title will receive specific “PS5 Pro Enhanced” treatment.

Unpacking the Deleted PlayStation France Reveal

The information, initially brought to light by Power Up Gaming, appeared to confirm that Rockstar’s upcoming open-world epic will leverage the unique architecture of the PS5 Pro. The deleted promotional copy highlighted two major technical pillars:

PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR): This AI-driven upscaling technology is designed to bridge the gap between performance and visual fidelity. By utilizing machine learning, the console can output a crisp 4K image that maintains high-level detail without the traditional performance tax of native rendering.

Enhanced Ray Tracing: The documentation pointed toward a significant leap in lighting fidelity. Players can expect more sophisticated shadow mapping and realistic surface reflections, which are crucial for the dense, neon-soaked environments of Leonida.

The Performance Trade-off: Framerate vs. Fidelity

Despite these graphical upgrades, a point of contention remains for the enthusiast community. Rockstar has previously confirmed that GTA 6 is targeting a 30 FPS cap on both the standard PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S. While the PS5 Pro enhancements will undoubtedly make the game look more cinematic, those hoping for a 60 FPS “Performance Mode” may find themselves disappointed.

In the current console landscape, where titles like Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Starfield have faced scrutiny over framerate stability, Rockstar’s decision to prioritize visual density over high refresh rates is a bold creative choice. It suggests that the studio is aiming for a “gold master” level of graphical complexity that current-gen CPUs simply cannot push beyond 30 frames per second.

The Competitive Landscape: Xbox Series X and the Secrecy Factor

This development raises questions about the parity between platforms. While the PS5 Pro will likely offer the most visually refined version of the game, the Xbox Series X remains a powerhouse in its own right. Some industry analysts suggest that Rockstar is intentionally keeping the finer technical details of the game’s performance under wraps-perhaps even from the console manufacturers themselves-to prevent platform wars and manage player expectations ahead of the 2025 launch.

Ultimately, whether the PS5 Pro’s PSSR technology provides a “must-have” advantage over the standard Xbox Series X experience remains to be seen. However, for players who prioritize lighting, texture clarity, and immersive environmental detail, the Pro model is shaping up to be the definitive way to experience the streets of Vice City.

» More Info >>>

Is *GTA 6* officially getting the PS5 Pro treatment?
