‘Who We Let Go’ is out today on This Never Happened, giving us a collaboration we didn’t know we needed. I still remember Otherwish being introduced through the TNH socials and everyone immediately asking questions. Is that Daniel’s twin? His secret alias? His doppelgänger? The theories were flying, which makes this collaboration even more fun now.

Who We Let Go

There is something immediately emotional about the title ‘Who We Let Go.’ The lyrics lean into that same feeling, reflecting on the people and relationships we leave behind. Rather than over explaining the story, the words leave enough room to find your own meaning in them.

Then there is Otherwish’s voice. It is easily one of the best parts of the track. His vocal feels intimate and vulnerable, giving the lyrics more weight without overpowering the production. Against Lane 8’s melodic backdrop, that voice makes ‘Who We Let Go’ feel deeply personal. Musically, the collaboration sits right at home on This Never Happened. The track keeps a steady pulse underneath its more reflective moments, but the emotion comes first. Everything around the vocal seems built to let that feeling breathe.

And if ‘Who We Let Go’ is the start of another EP from Ben Gorvine,
