The high-risk, high-reward browser RPG that launched on Abstract in early 2025 went offline on 9th October after its final event, The Awakening. <\/p>\n<p>It will return in the form of persistent MMORPG <em>Gigaverse Online<\/em> soon but that\u2019s not the entirety of the plan. Instead, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/0xDith\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">founder Dith<\/a> says the aim is to build \u201cthe next great character company\u201d, with a small, hand-animated character called Giga Noob at its center.<\/p>\n<p>Quite how this will combine with web3 is unclear. <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blockchaingamer.biz\/tag\/gigaverse\/\">Gigaverse\u2019s<\/a><\/em> existing GLHFers and ROM NFTs are being converted into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blockchaingamer.biz\/news\/43130\/gigaverse-giga-legends-mint\/\">the new Giga Legends collection<\/a>. But Dith argues that \u201crunning an NFT collection\u201d is not a real business, and that web2 fans basically never convert into NFT buyers.
