A Record-Breaking Performance: AwaykeN’s Historic 62-Kill Map
In a display of individual brilliance that will be remembered for years, Slaven “AwaykeN” Lyubenov has etched his name into the Counter-Strike 2 history books. During a high-stakes LAN environment, the Bulgarian rifler managed to secure an astonishing 62 kills on a single map-a feat that stands as the highest kill count ever recorded in a professional CS2 LAN setting.
The Marathon Match at Urban Riga Open
The record-shattering event unfolded during the Urban Riga Open Season 7, hosted in Riga, Latvia. Representing INFURITY, AwaykeN faced off against Inner Circle Academy in a grueling best-of-one group stage match on the iconic map Dust2.
The intensity of the competition was palpable, as the game extended into six grueling overtimes. By the time the final round concluded, a total of 60 rounds had been played. Despite AwaykeN’s Herculean efforts, INFURITY ultimately suffered a heartbreaking 31-29 defeat.
Statistical Dominance Amidst Defeat
While the loss was undoubtedly a blow to the team, AwaykeN’s individual statistics were nothing short of legendary. Beyond his record-breaking 62 kills, he maintained a 37-death count, an impressive 105 Average Damage per Round (ADR), and a KAST (Kill, Assist, Survival, Trade) rating of 81.7%.
To put this into perspective, a typical professional map rarely exceeds 30 rounds. Playing double that length requires immense mental fortitude and physical stamina. In the modern era of CS2, where utility usage and team coordination are paramount, sustaining such high output over 60 rounds is a rare anomaly that highlights the extreme volatility of professional play.
A New Benchmark for LAN Competition
This performance officially places AwaykeN at the pinnacle of the all-time leaderboard for single-map kills in CS2 LAN tournaments. While the result didn’t go in his favor, the match serves as a stark reminder that even the most dominant individual performances can be eclipsed by the collective effort of an opposing squad. AwaykeN has set a new standard for what is possible in a professional server, leaving fans and analysts alike wondering if this record will ever be surpassed.
