## Astralis Shakes Up Roster Following Barcelona LAN Victory
In a surprising turn of events, Astralis has officially moved Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen and Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard to the bench. This decision comes just days after the organization celebrated a major milestone: securing their first LAN trophy since 2019.
### A Strategic Pivot Amidst Success
The timing of this roster shuffle is particularly striking. The team recently triumphed at the Stake Ranked Episode 4 in Barcelona, a victory that finally broke a multi-year LAN drought for the storied Danish organization. Under HooXi’s leadership, the squad had been trending upward, securing notable grand-final appearances at PGL Bucharest 2026, FISSURE Playground 1, and PGL Astana 2025.
Despite this recent momentum, management has opted for a fresh direction. HooXi, who initially joined as a stand-in before signing a permanent contract in June 2025 to replace Casper “cadiaN” Møller, will now step away from the active lineup. Similarly, jabbi-who transitioned to the team from HEROIC in late 2023 alongside Martin “stavn” Lund-has also been sidelined.
### Potential Replacements and Future Outlook
While the benching is confirmed, the organization has yet to finalize its new starting five. Industry insiders and reports from outlets like Sport.ua suggest that Astralis is looking to overhaul its tactical approach. Speculation points toward the potential acquisition of former Liquid IGL Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek and Ukrainian rifler Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov.
As of now, these moves remain unverified, though reports indicate that both players are nearing the end of their current contractual obligations. This shift mirrors a broader trend in professional *Counter-Strike*, where top-tier teams are increasingly willing to disrupt winning rosters to pursue long-term tactical dominance rather than relying on short-term form. With the competitive landscape becoming more volatile-evidenced by the rising parity in prize pools and the increasing frequency of international events-Astralis appears to be prioritizing a long-term rebuild over the immediate satisfaction of their recent Barcelona win.
