Arca Unveils Latest Studio Project ‘XXXXX’ via XL Recordings
The visionary producer and artist Arca has officially dropped her latest full-length project, ‘XXXXX’, now available through XL Recordings. This expansive 16-track collection is currently streaming on all major platforms and has also been pressed for physical release on vinyl.
From Digital Performance to Physical Record
The arrival of ‘XXXXX’ comes on the heels of the immersive Diva.Experimental livestream event, which took place on July 23rd. During this broadcast, Arca debuted the album in its entirety, offering fans a comprehensive look at the project’s sonic landscape. To build anticipation, a dozen individual video clips from that performance were rolled out in the weeks leading up to the official launch.
The Diva.Experimental production was a masterclass in atmosphere, featuring direction by Daniel Sannwald and intricate lighting design by Matiere Noire. The performance was captured within the raw, industrial backdrop of a decommissioned factory in Barcelona, emphasizing the avant-garde nature of the music.
Building on a Grammy-Nominated Legacy
This new release arrives as a significant follow-up to Arca’s critically acclaimed and twice-Grammy-nominated album, ‘KiCk i’. That record served as the foundational pillar for the ambitious ‘KICK’ pentalogy, a series that redefined her experimental pop trajectory.
