Sijya Returns with Atmospheric New Single ‘Turbine’
The New Delhi-based electronic visionary Sijya has officially unveiled her latest musical offering, ‘Turbine’. This release marks her most recent output since joining the roster at One Little Independent Records last year.
From the Tate Modern to the Studio
The creative spark for ‘Turbine’ was ignited by a career-defining moment: Sijya’s performance at the Tate Modern’s legendary Turbine Hall. Marking her inaugural live appearance outside of India, the event left a profound impression on the artist.
“It was a wild experience,” Sijya noted, explaining the nomenclature of the track. “Turbine felt like a name that fit the song well. Some of the sounds are what an old turbine sounds like in my head.” By translating the industrial, rhythmic hum of heavy machinery into a sonic landscape, she captures the mechanical grandeur of the venue.
A Growing Discography
This new single arrives as a follow-up to her 2025 EP, *Leather & Brass*, which was released under the same label. That project saw Sijya refining her sound under the mentorship of industry veterans Matthew Herbert and Hugh Jones (Crewdson), and featured the standout track ‘Tabla’.
Sijya’s trajectory has been steadily rising since her 2022 debut EP, *Young Hate*. Her early work garnered significant attention, including a premiere by DJ Mag for the track ‘Tell Me’, which helped cement her reputation as a rising force in the global electronic scene.
