Expanding the PS VR2 Library: Publisher Impact Inked Launches “Unlock The Vault”
The PlayStation VR2 ecosystem is set for a significant content injection thanks to a fresh publishing venture titled “Unlock The Vault.” Spearheaded by Publisher Impact Inked, this initiative is specifically designed to accelerate the arrival of high-quality titles on Sony’s latest virtual reality hardware.
A Collaborative Approach to VR Curation
The project made its debut during the recent VR Games Showcase, where a four-minute featurette outlined the initiative’s roadmap. The presentation was hosted by Flat2VR Studios’ Myles Dyer, who was joined by a panel of industry veterans and prominent community voices.
The “Unlock The Vault” team includes:
* Shuhei Yoshida: Former PlayStation executive and a legendary figure in the gaming industry.
* Ryan Biniecki (MysticRyan): A well-known analyst and content creator within the PlayStation community.
* Rob Pearson: A familiar face from the PlayStation Access team.
* Bryan Paul (WithoutParole): A dedicated VR enthusiast and creator.
Each of these figures has been tasked with acting as a curator, with plans to unveil additional titles from the “vault” in the coming months. This strategy leverages community-trusted voices to build anticipation for upcoming VR software.
Kickstarting the Initiative: Drop Dead: The Cabin
The showcase concluded with host Jamie Feltham pulling back the curtain on the first title to emerge from this program: Drop Dead: The Cabin.
This title marks a departure from the franchise’s roots. While the original Drop Dead: Dual Strike was defined by its on-rails arcade shooting mechanics, The Cabin shifts the experience into a cooperative, high-stakes extraction shooter. Set within the established lore of the Drop Dead universe, players must work together to survive waves of undead threats in a more immersive, free-roaming environment.
As the VR market continues to mature-with recent industry reports suggesting that the standalone and console VR sectors are seeing increased engagement through social, co-op experiences-titles like The Cabin are positioned to capitalize on the demand for replayable, multiplayer-focused gameplay on the PS VR2.
