Beat Saber Expands Library with ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ Global Smash “APT.”
The rhythm-action phenomenon Beat Saber has surprised its community once again with a sudden “shock drop” release: the infectious, chart-topping collaboration “APT.” by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars. This high-energy track, which serves as the flagship single from ROSÉ’s solo studio debut, Rosie, has become a cultural juggernaut. Since its release, the song has shattered records, recently surpassing the two-billion-stream milestone on Spotify, cementing its status as one of the most recognizable pop anthems of the year.
The Evolution of the Shock Drop Series
Beat Games continues to utilize its “Shock Drop” initiative to keep the Beat Saber experience fresh by integrating viral hits shortly after they dominate the airwaves. “APT.” marks the fourth surprise addition to the game in 2026. This series has previously featured a diverse range of genres, including the high-octane energy of Yungblud’s “Zombie”, which arrived in June, the reggaeton rhythms of Bad Bunny’s “Me Porto Bonito” from February, and the alternative staple “Stressed Out” by Twenty One Pilots, which debuted in March.
A Year of Massive Growth for Beat Saber
Beyond these individual track releases, 2026 has been a transformative year for the title. To celebrate the game’s eight-year anniversary this past May, developers rolled out three original tracks at no additional cost to players. Furthermore, Meta has signaled a major shift in the game’s future with the announcement of its most significant update to date, which introduces “Flux”-a revolutionary gameplay mode designed to challenge even the most seasoned VR rhythm veterans.
