Unlocking Hidden Value: How MyMonthlyCar is Transforming Dealership Inventory
For Igor Dobrianskyi, the typical car dealership lot is a landscape of untapped potential. Rather than seeing a thriving business, he observes a massive collection of assets that are slowly hemorrhaging value.
“Across the United States, there are roughly 76,000 dealerships, and they are collectively holding millions of pre-owned vehicles that are simply sitting idle, depreciating by the day,” Dobrianskyi explains. “Meanwhile, a significant segment of the population-such as seasonal workers, students, or those in temporary job placements-struggles to find affordable, short-term transportation solutions that don’t involve the high costs of traditional rental agencies.”
Bridging the Gap in the Automotive Market
To solve this disconnect, Dobrianskyi co-founded MyMonthlyCar, a digital marketplace designed to turn stagnant inventory into a flexible, month-to-month rental service. By acting as a bridge between local dealerships and drivers who need vehicles for short durations, the platform creates a secondary revenue stream for dealers while offering consumers a more accessible alternative to long-term leases or expensive daily rental rates.
The startup’s innovative approach has already garnered industry attention. MyMonthlyCar was recently named to the 2026 Startup Battlefield 200, a prestigious group of high-potential startups invited to showcase their technology at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, taking place October 13-15.
A Vision Born from Resilience
The foundation of MyMonthlyCar is rooted in the personal journey of its leadership team. Co-founders Igor Dobrianskyi, Chief Product Officer Kostiantyn Gitko, and CTO Vadym Zotov are all Ukrainian entrepreneurs. Following the onset of the war in Ukraine, Dobrianskyi relocated to the United States with his family to build a new future.
Today, the company is incorporated in Delaware with its primary operations based in Florida. Their mission is straightforward: to modernize the way we think about vehicle ownership and utility.
Rethinking the Rental Model
While the concept of car rentals is not new, MyMonthlyCar differentiates itself by focusing exclusively on the pre-owned market. By utilizing existing inventory that would otherwise sit on a lot waiting for a buyer, the platform avoids the massive capital expenditure required to build a dedicated rental fleet.
This model is particularly timely. With the average price of a used vehicle remaining elevated-often hovering above $25,000 according to recent industry data-many consumers are priced out of purchasing, yet they still require reliable transportation. MyMonthlyCar provides a middle ground, allowing users to access quality vehicles without the commitment of a multi-year loan or the exorbitant daily fees charged by traditional rental giants.
