## Yandex Secures Upper-Bracket Final Berth at BLAST Slam VIII
Team Yandex has officially punched their ticket to the upper-bracket final of BLAST Slam VIII. Following a gritty 2-1 comeback victory against PARIVISION, the squad has guaranteed themselves a podium finish, a minimum prize of US$135,000, and a crucial 24-hour recovery period before their next high-stakes match.
### A Dominant Playoff Trajectory
Yandex’s path to the final has been defined by resilience. As reported by GosuGamers, the team kicked off their playoff campaign by edging out LGD Gaming 2-1 in the quarterfinals. They maintained that momentum in the semifinals, mirroring the scoreline against PARIVISION to become the first organization to secure a spot in the upper-bracket final.
The team’s ability to adapt under pressure has been their greatest asset. During the LGD series, Yandex was forced into a third game after dropping the second. They responded with clinical precision, wrapping up the decider in just 31 minutes. Standout performances were key to this victory: CHIRA_JUNIOR dominated the map on Earth Spirit, contributing eight kills and eight assists, while Watson provided the necessary firepower on Templar Assassin, tallying 10 kills and four assists.
### The Broader Tournament Landscape
While Yandex has been making waves, the rest of the bracket remains fiercely competitive. In the other quarterfinal matchup, Aurora Gaming demonstrated their strength by sweeping 1W Team 2-0. This series was a grueling test of endurance, lasting a combined 131 minutes. The opening game alone stretched for 77 minutes, highlighting the high level of tactical play and defensive fortitude currently on display at this year’s tournament.
As the competition intensifies, the gap between the top-tier contenders continues to shrink. With the current meta favoring late-game scaling and objective-focused play, the upcoming matches are expected to be just as demanding as the marathon series seen in the quarterfinals.
