Mercedes will start offering its latest MB.Drive Assist Pro autonomous driving system to compatible vehicles in early 2027. The new ADAS got the UNECE clearance for Level 2 autonomous driving, but unlike the Drive Pilot available on the latest EQS, which got a Level 3 approval for certain highways, the MB.Drive Assist Pro will work in urban environments as well as on highways.
Level 2 means that the driver must maintain continuous attention on the road and take control of the vehicle at any time, as they are responsible, and even though it’s a step below the Level 3 Drive Pilot system, it can be used to drive you from point A to point B in dense urban environments and on motorways.
