Just months after the massive success of ‘Be Mine’, James Hype is back with another release ‘Trigger Finger’. He revealed to fans that he wrote the song on a air plane in February when he flew to Brisbane and finished it in an hour, he later played the track the same night.
“The best ideas come when you show up anyway”
-James Hype
He says: “The lesson I keep learning: make music every day. Not just when you feel like it. Not just when you’re rested. Not just when you’re in the mood. The best ideas come when you show up anyway.”
This track feels like a classic James Hype style song, however it doesn’t provide a strong melody and lyrics. While ‘Be Mine’ provided more vocals and melody, ‘Trigger Finger’ does feel like it was a song that got put together in a hour as James Hype mentioned. While it is a fun song that will fit his sets and style, it doesn’t feel like it had a high level of production.
James Hype has a busy summer where he will be playing at major festivals and shows from Veld Music Festival in Toronto to Tomorrowland in Belgium. He will also be playing in Ibiza this summer.
