Instagram has launched the ability to rearrange posts on your profile grid. The feature, first teased by Instagram head Adam Mosseri nearly a year ago, is now available worldwide.
Users can move any post to any position, regardless of its original posting date. Meta confirmed the rollout, noting in a statement to USA Today that the delay was intentional to ensure the implementation was solid: “We know this is long overdue, but we wanted to take the time to get it right.”
The option addresses one of the app’s most requested changes. Reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi first spotted an “edit grid” tool in the Instagram app code as early as 2022.
How to reorder your grid
- Open your profile.
- Long-press any post.
- Select Reorder grid from the menu (alongside Pin to main grid and Archive).
- In the new view, drag posts into your preferred order.
- Pinned posts remain fixed at the top and appear blacked out during reordering.
The change gives creators and users more control over how their content appears at a glance, without being locked into chronological order.
