Acclaimed electronic producer Fatima Al Qadiri is set to expand her discography with a brand-new EP titled ‘3TWI’, scheduled for a global release on October 9th through the influential Hyperdub imprint.
A Deep Dive into Cultural Identity and Sound
With ‘3TWI (عتوي)’, Al Qadiri further refines her sonic investigation into the intersection of West Asian folk traditions, the nuances of queer identity, and the multifaceted ethnic tapestry of the region. This project sees the artist reuniting with her trusted creative circle, including Bobo Secret, Gumar, and Lama3an. Fans eager to secure the release can now place their pre-orders via Bandcamp.
Visual Storytelling: The ‘7ilween’ Single
Accompanying the announcement is the lead single, ‘7ilween’-a title that translates to “pretty young things.” The track serves as a collaborative effort featuring Bobo Secret and Lama3an. To complement the music, Al Qadiri tapped director Sophia Al-Maria for a striking music video. Produced by NG Partners, the visual project was filmed across the distinct urban landscapes of London and Baghdad, bridging the gap between the diaspora and the artist’s roots.
The artistic reach of this project extends beyond digital streaming platforms. An expanded cut of the ‘7ilween’ video is slated for exhibition within various global art institutions throughout 2027, with specific venue details expected to be unveiled later this year.

‘3TWI’ marks Al Qadiri’s second major project for Hyperdub since her 2023 comeback with the ‘Gumar’ EP. Her creative output has been remarkably diverse in the interim; she has established herself as a formidable force in film scoring, contributing atmospheric soundtracks to notable titles such as Skincare, Seaking Mavis Beacon, La Abuela, and L’etranger.
Her return to Hyperdub aligns with a vibrant period for the label, which has recently championed forward-thinking releases from artists like Ikonika and Jessy Lanza, cementing the label’s status as a cornerstone of contemporary electronic music.
