Jade Makes History as the First Little Mix Alum to Crack the Billboard Hot 100
In a landmark achievement for her burgeoning solo career, Jade has officially secured her inaugural entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Her breakout single, “Angel of My Dreams,” entered the chart at No. 70 for the week ending November 7. This milestone is particularly significant as it distinguishes her as the very first member of the globally acclaimed girl group Little Mix to achieve a solo placement on this prestigious chart.
The Power of Viral Momentum
The trajectory of “Angel of My Dreams” serves as a masterclass in how modern digital culture can breathe new life into a track. Although the song was released over two years ago, it experienced a massive resurgence in late October. According to data provided by Luminate, the track saw a 65% spike in activity, accumulating 3.8 million official U.S. streams during the tracking period of October 23-29.
This sudden climb was ignited by a high-profile cultural moment: the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. During the live-streamed event held in Los Angeles on October 18, Kylie Jenner commanded the runway while wearing the iconic $50 million Fantasy Bra, with Jade’s track serving as the backdrop. The synergy between the high-fashion spectacle and the song’s production created an immediate viral sensation on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, effectively introducing the track to a massive new audience.
A New Chapter for the Little Mix Star
While Jade did not perform at the event, the strategic placement of her music within such a high-visibility broadcast proved to be a catalyst for her chart success. This achievement marks a pivotal transition for the artist, signaling her ability to command attention as a solo entity independent of her former group. As Billboard reported, this viral boost has successfully bridged the gap between social media trends and traditional music industry metrics.
