RaceRoom adds a VR performance option that does not need eye tracking

RaceRoom Racing Experience now offers foveated rendering in VR, reducing peripheral detail to ease GPU load while keeping the centre sharp. The option arrived in the October 28 update.

KW Studios says it works with any OpenXR headset without extra software. The sharp area follows your head, not your eyes, so it does not require eye tracking.

Enable Foveated Rendering in the VR options: it is off by default. Resolution and focus-area size changes take effect when the next track loads; edge blending and position adjustments work immediately.

At the default settings, the studio says the game renders one third as many pixels. That is a rendering-workload claim, not a promise of three times the frame rate.
