While the high-performance C400 4MATIC served as the initial flagship for this series, the automaker has now introduced the C300 4MATIC to the market. This new addition provides a more accessible entry point into the electric C-Class family without sacrificing the brand’s signature all-wheel-drive capability.
### Strategic Positioning and Future Variants
The C300 4MATIC is designed for buyers who prioritize value and efficiency. While it sits below the C400 in terms of raw power and total energy storage, it retains the sophisticated engineering expected of the Mercedes badge. Looking ahead, the company has confirmed plans to further diversify the lineup with the C300+. This upcoming rear-wheel-drive variant is particularly anticipated for its efficiency-focused design, which is projected to deliver an impressive cruising range of approximately 800 km, catering to long-distance commuters and road-trip enthusiasts alike.
### Technical Specifications and Charging Capabilities
At the heart of the C300 4MATIC is an 85 kWh battery pack. While this is a reduction from the 94 kWh Li-NMC unit found in the C400, the vehicle remains highly competitive in the current EV landscape. According to WLTP testing standards, the C300 4MATIC achieves a respectable range of 690 km on a single charge.
To minimize downtime, Mercedes has integrated an 800-volt electrical architecture. This high-voltage system is a significant advantage, enabling rapid charging speeds of up to 320 kW. In practical terms, this means that when connected to a high-capacity DC fast charger, the vehicle can replenish its energy reserves at a rate comparable to the fastest-charging luxury EVs currently on the market, ensuring that long journeys remain convenient and efficient.
