Broadcaster and tastemaker Jamz Supernova is building anticipation for her highly anticipated debut compilation, Dance Around The World. Scheduled for release on October 16th via the esteemed Mr Bongo label, the project serves as a sonic map of the DJ’s extensive international travels. The first of these new releases is “Yalode,” a collaborative effort that highlights the intersection of diverse musical lineages. The track features UK-based producer Jus Now (Sam Interface) working in tandem with Trinidadian percussionist Keshav ‘Lazerbeam’ Singh and the Brazilian ensemble As Ganhadeiras de Itapuã. By weaving together the rhythmic traditions of Salvador da Bahia with the gritty energy of the UK underground and Caribbean percussion, the track acts as a bridge between disparate global dance floors.
Complementing this is “Broke,” a vibrant offering from Célia Wa. The Paris-born, Guadeloupean artist utilizes her multi-instrumental talents to fuse traditional Afro-Caribbean gwo ka rhythms with contemporary jazz, soul, and high-tempo club percussion. This track exemplifies the compilation’s mission to modernize heritage sounds for the modern DJ set.

These latest additions join a growing list of teasers from the project, including the high-energy “Quiero Ser Buena” by Colombian MC Verito Asprilla and the collaborative “Sin Africa” by Brenda and Diva Cruz. Since the initial announcement in July, it has become clear that the compilation is more than just a playlist; it is a curated travelogue.
Reflecting on the creative process, Jamz Supernova noted that the project was born from her years of touring. “I selected locations that have profoundly shaped my artistic identity,” she explained. “The concept centers on the duality of travel-experiencing the vibrant energy of a city during the daylight hours versus the transformative atmosphere of its nightlife.”
