“Shinji Mikami is a monumental and influential figure for both fans and developers alike”

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) has announced that Resident Evil creator, Shinji Mikami, will be inducted into its Hall of Fame next year.
Over his 30-year career, Mikami has created several enduring IPs for Capcom and beyond, including Devil May Cry, The Evil Within, Hi-Fi Rush, and Ghostwire: Tokyo, and is described as “passionate about nurturing creative environments where the next generation of game developers can thrive”.
Mikami currently leads Unbound Inc. as creative director and CEO.
In a statement, AIAS president Meggan Scavio said: “Shinji Mikami is a monumental and influential figure for both fans and developers alike.
“He has continually demonstrated his originality and creative vision that resonates and inspires the action game genre. We are honored to be able to celebrate Mikami-san’s achievements and induct him into our Hall of Fame during our 30th anniversary of the D.I.C.E. Awards.”
Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda, who will be presenting the award, added: “It was from Mikami-san that I learned how to approach game development, both as a director and as a designer.
