BMW Expands Neue Klasse Lineup with High-Performance iX3 M60 xDrive
BMW is significantly broadening the reach of its innovative Neue Klasse architecture by introducing the most potent iteration of the iX3 to date. Following the successful rollout of the entry-level iX3 40, as well as the dual-motor iX3 40 xDrive and the robust 50 xDrive variants, the German automaker is now injecting M-division DNA into the lineup. The upcoming iX3 M60 xDrive is set to hit the online configurator this coming January, serving as a precursor to the highly anticipated iX4 launch scheduled for March. While order books open early in the year, manufacturing is slated to ramp up during the spring season.
BMW iX3 M60 xDrive: The New Performance Benchmark
Engineering Excellence and Powertrain Specs
The iX3 M60 xDrive is engineered to deliver a visceral driving experience, borrowing its sophisticated powertrain architecture directly from the i3 M60 and the upcoming iX4 M60. This high-performance configuration generates a staggering 450 kW, translating to 612 horsepower. To put this into perspective, this output places the electric SUV in direct competition with high-end performance EVs like the Porsche Macan Electric Turbo, signaling BMW’s aggressive push to dominate the premium electric crossover segment. By leveraging the modularity of the Neue Klasse platform, BMW ensures that this M-badged model maintains the agility and handling precision expected of the brand, even with the substantial power increase.
