Boys Noize has put out his seventh studio album, 7LLVSION, out now via his own Boysnoize Records. The Berlin-based producer, born Alex Ridha, paired the release with a music video for ‘Ycore,’ a track featuring the Arabic vocals of Mayah Alkhateri.
The 12-track record pulls from a wide range of collaborators spanning genres and scenes. ZEP, Brutalismus 3000, Adame DJ, Locked Club, Safety Trance, TAICHU, Taube, and Alkhateri all show up across the tracklist, along with featured vocalists Thalia Abdon, MC DA FRANÇA, and ABRA. It’s the kind of guest list that reflects where Boys Noize has positioned himself over the past two decades — somewhere between techno, electro, and whatever unique hybrid genre he feels like building that day.
Two other tracks on the album already have their own music videos: ‘Nächstenliebe’ with Brutalismus 3000, and ‘1+1+1’ with ZEP. Listeners digging through the credits might also want to check ‘Wake Me Up,’ his collaboration with Locked Club — there’s reportedly a hidden feature buried in there that isn’t listed up front.
The twelve-track 7LLVSION LP closes a monumental year for Boys Noize, marked by extensive collaboration with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
