Thomas Bangalter has released a new electronic remix of ‘Circonvolutions’ from his 2023 orchestral album Mythologies, created specifically for the new global Bleu de CHANEL fragrance campaign starring Jacob Elordi and directed by Alfonso Cuarón.

The digital single and limited 12” vinyl EP arrived today, marking a rare moment where Bangalter’s classical orchestration meets electronic reinvention. The Daft Punk co-founder originally composed ‘Circonvolutions’ as part of Mythologies, his first work for orchestra, which was commissioned by choreographer Angelin Preljocaj for a ballet of the same name.

This CHANEL collaboration comes at a particularly active time for Bangalter, serving as a prelude to his highly anticipated new album MIRAGE – Ballet for 16 dancers, set for release on June 5, 2026. Unlike his orchestral work on Mythologies, MIRAGE represents a return to electronic composition — described as a “sweeping, minimalist, and atmospheric electronic piece” created as the score for a ballet conceived by choreographer Damien Jalet and contemporary artist Kōhei Nawa in Geneva in 2025.

Adding another layer to this busy creative period, Bangalter is also contributing the sound design for a new public art installation in Paris this week. Multidisciplinary artist JR invited him to create the sonic dimension of La Caverne du Pont Neuf, a monumental artwork that will transform Paris’s oldest bridge into a cavern for three weeks.

The limited edition vinyl release includes both the new electronic remix and the original orchestral version performed by the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine under conductor Romain Dumas. For collectors and fans following Bangalter’s post-Daft Punk journey into contemporary classical and back into electronics, this represents a compelling bridge between his orchestral and electronic worlds.
