UNTOLD Festival Pioneers Women’s Health Initiative with On-Site Medical Screenings
The upcoming 11th edition of the UNTOLD Festival is set to break new ground in the live music industry. Beyond its reputation for world-class electronic music, the festival is introducing a vital public health initiative: providing free breast ultrasounds and HPV testing to its attendees. This move marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time a major European music festival has integrated professional medical screening services directly into its event infrastructure.
Bringing Preventative Care to the Festival Grounds
During the festival, which takes place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, a specialized mobile medical unit will be stationed near the event perimeter. Festival-goers with valid wristbands will have the opportunity to receive complimentary consultations and diagnostic screenings. This initiative is designed to remove common barriers to healthcare, such as time constraints and accessibility, by meeting women exactly where they are-in a space defined by community and celebration.
The program is being executed in collaboration with the Renaşterea Foundation, a non-profit organization with a two-decade track record of promoting health education and medical access throughout Romania. To date, the foundation has facilitated over 40,000 medical investigations, including critical Pap smears and mammography services, playing a pivotal role in early cancer detection across the region.
A New Standard for Festival Responsibility
Ioana Chereji, Head of Communication at UNTOLD Universe, emphasized that the festival’s mission extends beyond entertainment. “We want to bring access to prevention closer to the female audience, through free HPV testing and free mammograms, in a space where they feel connected, safe and part of a community,” Chereji stated. “We believe that the magic of UNTOLD also means care, awareness, concrete steps for a state of well-being and most importantly, health.”
This sentiment is echoed by Mihaela Geoană, President of the Renașterea Foundation, who views the partnership as a transformative moment for public health outreach. “It is the first time that cancer prevention reaches the heart of a music festival,” Geoană noted. “Health must be accessible wherever people live experiences that bring them together, and a festival is the place where we can reach the young audience.”

The 2026 edition of UNTOLD Festival is scheduled to take place at the Cluj Arena from August 6th to 9th. The event continues to solidify its status as a global powerhouse, recently securing the No. 3 spot in the prestigious DJ Mag Top 100 Festivals 2026 poll.
