# Three Decades of Sonic Exploration: Global Underground Celebrates 30 Years

Just as Fabric serves as the heartbeat of London’s nightlife, Global Underground (GU) has long stood as the definitive authority on progressive house. Since its inception in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1996, the label has become synonymous with the evolution of electronic dance music. As the imprint approaches its monumental 30th anniversary, it has unveiled plans for a celebratory compilation titled *THIRTY*, scheduled for release on September 25th, 2026.

## A Legacy of Global Soundscapes
The core philosophy of Global Underground has always been rooted in travel and atmosphere. By transporting world-class selectors to far-flung, exotic destinations, the label captures the raw energy of a specific time and place. With a catalog boasting over 49 “City Mix” installments, GU has documented the global dance scene through the ears of legends such as Carl Cox, Solomun, Sasha, Joris Voorn, Deep Dish, Guy J, and Danny Tenaglia.

These compilations are more than just playlists; they are sonic postcards. Whether it is the dusty, transcendental energy of Burning Man or the sun-drenched, high-octane dancefloors of Ibiza, GU has consistently bridged the gap between the DJ booth and the listener’s imagination.

## THIRTY: A New Chapter in Progressive House
To mark this milestone, *THIRTY* features an ambitious collection of thirty exclusive tracks from thirty distinct artists. The project highlights the current vanguard of the scene, blending established icons with rising stars. The tracklist includes contributions from industry stalwarts like Guy J and Nick Warren, alongside contemporary innovators such as Nicky Elisabeth, Yulia Niko, and Spencer Brown. A standout highlight of the collection is the highly anticipated collaboration between the iconic vocalist Nadia Ali and the Berlin-based production duo Frankey and Sandrino.

## Inside the Mix
The anniversary release is structured across two immersive mixes, designed to guide the listener through a curated journey of sound. The first disc kicks off with the driving, cinematic textures of Dusty Kid’s “Gran Turismo.” From there, the mix flows seamlessly through a diverse array of talent, featuring contributions from Gorge, Rodriguez Jr., Ocean Flor, and Guy J’s emotive “Rise.” The journey continues with atmospheric soundscapes from Helsloot, Nicky Elisabeth, and a collaborative effort between Dee Montero and Jim Rider featuring Elu.
