A staple of Dublin’s nightlife scene, Yamamori Izakaya, has officially announced the conclusion of its late-night club programming. This decision follows a protracted legal battle and a subsequent settlement reached with its neighbor, The Hoxton Hotel.
The End of an Era on South Great George’s Street
Since its inception in 1995, the Japanese-inspired eatery and bar has been a cornerstone of the city’s social fabric. However, the venue’s operational landscape shifted dramatically following the arrival of The Hoxton Hotel, which opened its doors directly adjacent to the site in November 2023. According to a joint statement released on June 26 via Instagram, the two establishments have agreed that all DJ-led events at the Izakaya will conclude on July 19. While this marks the end of a long-standing tradition, the management team has hinted at “exciting plans for a new venue” to be unveiled shortly.

The tension between the two businesses escalated earlier this year when The Hoxton pursued a High Court injunction against the restaurant. The hotel’s legal team argued that excessive noise bleeding through shared walls had severely impacted their business, forcing them to take 31 of their 129 guest rooms out of commission.
