Expanding the Dossier: “Behind Enemy Lines” Update Hits 007 First Light

The latest expansion for 007 First Light, titled “Behind Enemy Lines,” has officially deployed across all platforms. This update marks the first significant post-launch content drop, delivering a fresh suite of Tactical Simulator (TacSim) challenges and a variety of high-stakes rewards designed to test even the most seasoned field agents.

New Tactical Simulator Objectives

Players can now test their mettle in two distinct scenarios added to the TacSim rotation:

  • The Workshop: This mission demands absolute precision and discretion. Agents are restricted from using firearms, forcing a reliance on stealth takedowns and environmental manipulation to neutralize targets without raising an alarm.
  • Extraction Avenues: A high-pressure escape scenario where speed is paramount. Players must navigate to the exfiltration point before enemy reinforcements overwhelm the position. To heighten the intensity, the “License to Kill” difficulty is enabled, compounded by punishing modifiers such as “Powerful Enemies” and “No Resource Regen,” which effectively strip away the safety net of health or ammo recovery.

Arsenal Upgrades and Cosmetic Additions

To assist in overcoming these grueling challenges, the update introduces several lethal tools to Bond’s inventory. Players can now unlock the DRS-7 Silenced SMG, perfect for the stealth-focused Workshop mission, and the high-caliber Desert Eagle for when subtlety is no longer an option. Beyond weaponry, the update introduces the “Diamond in the Rough” outfit. This aesthetic choice pays homage to the luxurious, high-stakes atmosphere of The Pearl Resort, allowing players to maintain a sharp appearance while operating in the field.

The Road Ahead for Year 1

While “Behind Enemy Lines” provides a substantial boost to the current gameplay loop, the development roadmap for Year 1 of First Light remains packed with anticipated features. Future updates are slated to include the highly requested New Game+ mode, a dedicated Photo Mode for capturing cinematic moments, and the introduction of the G2 Glasses gadget. Furthermore, the game is set to expand its reach with a Nintendo Switch 2 port and a narrative-driven mission featuring the character Bawma. While these additions are confirmed, the studio has yet to finalize specific release windows for these upcoming features.
