Sony is battling a major Spider-Man: Brand New Day leak, and using copyright claims to scrub the movie’s post-credits scene from social media.

Footage of the film’s post-credits scene, seemingly recorded from within a theater, began circulating on X early this morning. IGN has now seen multiple copies of this footage removed from the platform via copyright claims — something that only proves it legitimacy further.

Officially, Spider-Man: Brand New Day does not release until July 31, though the movie has now had its official premiere on July 27, and early previews begin within a matter of hours the same day. It’s unclear where footage of the post-credits scene originated, though some theaters clearly now have access to the film.

While Sony is removing some instances of the footage, IGN has seen other versions that are still being hosted on social media at the time of writing — and it is unrealistic to think that Sony’s legal team will likely catch every one.
