Dekmantel Brings Its Signature Amsterdam Sound to Bali’s Shores
For the first time in its history, the renowned Dutch electronic music institution Dekmantel is expanding its global footprint to Indonesia. On September 26th, the Amsterdam-based festival and record label will host an exclusive, one-day takeover at Desa Potato Head, the iconic beachfront cultural hub located in Seminyak, Bali.
A Curated Line-up for the Island
The event promises a sophisticated sonic journey, blending international heavyweights with local talent. Attendees can look forward to performances from Avalon Emerson and the dynamic Ogazón. The bill is further bolstered by the legendary Soichi Terada, Fafi Abdel Nour, and the label’s own Dekmantel Soundsystem. Representing the vibrant local scene, Danny Satria and Dita will also take to the decks.
From Amsterdamse Bos to Seminyak
Mirroring the ethos of their flagship Dekmantel Festival-which recently concluded its 2026 run at Amsterdamse Bos from July 29th to August 2nd-the Bali event is designed as a holistic experience. The programming will transition from daytime listening sessions and industry-focused discussions into a high-energy evening of dance music. The festivities will span the expansive Potato Head Beach Club and the specialized on-site venue, Klymax, keeping the energy alive until the early hours.
A Partnership Rooted in Community
This collaboration is the culmination of a long-standing creative bond between the two entities. According to Potato Head resident Dita, the partnership is a natural evolution of years of mutual support. “It started as a friendship,” Dita noted in a recent statement. “We’ve spent years visiting each other, sharing music, sharing spaces, and now we get to share Bali with them. It feels like the most natural thing. And also very much overdue.”
As the electronic music industry continues to decentralize, events like this highlight the growing importance of cross-continental cultural exchanges.
