By temporarily closing the gates to new Pro members, the company aims to stabilize its backend systems and prevent performance degradation for those already utilizing the platform.
“Our goal is to implement the most surgical adjustment possible to ensure we maintain the widest possible access for our community,” Sottiaux explained. While the top-tier subscription is currently locked, OpenAI has confirmed that its other service levels-including the Go and Plus plans, as well as API access-remain fully operational for new and existing users.
