## G2 Esports Targets HYUNMIN for 2027 VALORANT Roster Shakeup
As the off-season transfer window heats up, G2 Esports appears to be finalizing a major strategic shift for the 2027 VALORANT Champions Tour. Emerging reports suggest that the organization has set its sights on South Korean talent Song “HYUNMIN” Hyun-min to bolster their offensive firepower.
### A Strategic Shift in the Duelist Role
Industry insiders, specifically Alejandro “Anonimotum” Gomis of Sheep Esports, have indicated that a verbal agreement was reached between the 20-year-old duelist and the organization on November 1. This development, which was initially brought to light by Lenkee11 on X, signals a significant transition for the team’s composition.
Should this acquisition be finalized, HYUNMIN is expected to step into the vacancy left by Alexander “jawgemo” Mor. Recent reports have heavily connected the former world champion to a potential transfer to Team Vitality, leaving a critical gap in G2’s lineup that the young Korean star is now poised to fill.
### Contextualizing the G2 Rebuild
It is important to note that while these reports are gaining traction, G2 Esports has yet to issue an official statement confirming the signing. Until the ink is dry on the contract, this remains a developing situation rather than a confirmed roster change.
This potential move is merely the latest chapter in a broader restructuring effort for G2. The organization began evaluating its long-term trajectory well before the VALORANT Champions Shanghai event, aiming to refine its tactical approach and player synergy. With the 2027 season approaching, G2 is clearly prioritizing fresh, high-impact talent to remain competitive in an increasingly volatile professional landscape. As teams across the VCT continue to iterate on their rosters, the addition of a player with HYUNMIN’s profile could be the catalyst G2 needs to reclaim their dominance.
