This new service integration utilizes the existing high-speed line that currently links London with Amsterdam. By incorporating Antwerp as a scheduled stop, Eurostar is optimizing its current schedule, which features up to four daily departures. Passengers traveling on these specific services will enjoy a streamlined journey, with the train maintaining its established stops at Lille-Europe, Brussels-Midi, Rotterdam-Centraal, and Amsterdam-Centraal.
### Understanding the One-Way Direct Service
It is important for passengers to note that this direct convenience is currently limited to the outbound leg from the UK. Travelers heading from London to Antwerp will enjoy a seamless, single-train experience.
However, those planning a return trip from Antwerp to London will still need to utilize a connecting service. Eurostar has clarified that a direct return route is not currently feasible due to the specific infrastructure requirements for UK border control and customs, which are not yet present at Antwerp-Centraal. To facilitate the return journey, passengers can purchase a combined ticket through Eurostar that includes an SNCB connection to Brussels-Midi, where the necessary security and immigration checks are performed.
