It’s been a long time coming, but Apple is expected to bring 14-inch and 16-inch OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro models sometime in late 2026 or early 2027. There have been numerous rumors going around so far, and we now have more details thanks to a new report from South Korea’s The Elec. Apple will task Samsung Display as the exclusive supplier for the touchscreen OLED panels.
This is a noteworthy development as previous rumors also pointed to LG Display as a possible supplier for the upcoming MacBooks. LG reportedly offered to use its sixth-generation OLED line while Samsung offered its more efficient 8.6-generation OLED line. That seemed to be enough to convince Apple to grant exclusivity status.
According to the new report, Samsung will supply an estimated 2.5 million OLED display units for the upcoming MacBooks. Samsung is also expected to be the exclusive OLED panel supplier for the upcoming iPhone Ultra.
