# Mason Thames Officially Tapped to Play Robin in DC’s Dynamic Duo
The search for the next Boy Wonder has concluded. Mason Thames, widely recognized for his breakout performance in the live-action *How to Train Your Dragon*, has been officially confirmed to voice Dick Grayson in the highly anticipated animated feature, *Dynamic Duo*.
## A Passionate Pursuit of the Role
While whispers regarding Thames’ involvement in the DC Universe have circulated for months-fueled by subtle hints dropped by the actor on his social media channels-the news is now set in stone. Peter Safran, co-CEO of DC Studios, recently verified the casting, highlighting the sheer intensity Thames brought to the audition process.
According to Safran, the studio prioritizes talent who demonstrate genuine enthusiasm for the source material. In the case of Thames, that enthusiasm was palpable. “We look for volunteers, not just recruits, to join the DCU,” Safran explained during a recent interview with [Collider](https://collider.com/dynamic-duo-mason-thames-dick-grayson-robin-casting/). “Mason didn’t just want the part; he was obsessed with it. He walked into that audition room and absolutely nailed it. His performance was nothing short of stellar.”
## Why Thames is the Perfect Fit for Dick Grayson
The casting of Thames marks a significant milestone for the upcoming Dynamic Duo project. By selecting an actor who possesses both a rising star profile and a deep-seated passion for the character, DC Studios is signaling a commitment to authentic storytelling.
Much like how a dedicated athlete spends years training for a specific championship, Thames approached the role of Dick Grayson with a level of preparation that set him apart from his peers. His ability to capture the youthful energy and complexity of the original Robin is expected to be a cornerstone of the film’s success. As the DCU continues to expand, having actors who are personally invested in their characters-rather than just viewing them as another job-is becoming a hallmark of the studio’s new creative direction.
With production moving forward, fans are eager to see how this “obsessed” newcomer brings the iconic sidekick to life in this fresh, animated iteration of the Batman mythos.
