Sébastien ‘Ceb’ Debs has found it very difficult to stay away from competitive gaming, despite officially retiring back in 2021.

The Dota 2 superstar, who was part of the OG Team that won consecutive TI titles, walked away after admitting he’d lost the drive.

However, he continued to make stand-in appearances for OG and recently became Technical Director at SRG.OG, a joint MLBB team from OG and the Malaysian club, Selangor Red Giants.

Here, we explore Ceb’s net worth, the path he took to fame and fortune, his personal life,  business interests and the charities he supports.

Ceb is a French-Lebanese gamer, real name is Sébastien Debs, who is best known for his success in playing Dota 2 with the renowned OG team.

His prize winnings of $5.95 million put him in fifth spot in the all-time earnings chart behind the likes of Johan ‘N0tail’ Sundstein and Anathan ‘Ana’ Pham.   

Despite officially retiring from competitive Dota 2 in 2021, he has continued to make regular appearances on the professional circuit.

The main bulk of Ceb’s net worth is believed to be the $5.95 million he earned during the height of his professional gaming career, according to Esports Earnings.

In fact, more than $5 million came from the back-to-back wins in The International, the premier championship of Dota 2, in 2018 and 2019.

Prize winnings from Dota 2 tournaments have been the primary income source for Ceb since he started his professional career 14 years ago. He has made $5.95 million from 82 tournaments. The International in 2019 was the most lucrative, with a prize of $3.1 million, compared to $2.25 million for the previous year’s event.

Ceb would have also earned a salary from his roles as both coach and player within the OG team over several years. While no details are publicly available, a report from the Influencer Marketing Hub revealed that leading esports players can earn between $12,000 and $187,200 per year.

It’s believed that Ceb also earns money from his activities on both YouTube and Twitch, as he is active on both platforms. The amount earned will depend on factors such as the number of subscribers, the amount they’re paying, and any arrangement with the platform.

Ceb doesn’t appear to have any prominent business ventures or investments, as he remains extremely active within esports. 

Sébastien hasn’t publicly discussed his early life in great detail. However, it’s understood that he spent his formative years in Lebanon before being repatriated to France at the age of 14.

Ceb, also known as 7ckngMad, began his professional Dota 2 career in 2011, playing for Team Shakira. He then had spells with the likes of Western Wolves, Sigma and Alliance.

By 2016, he was OG’s coach and credited for helping the team to victory at the Frankfurt, Manila, Boston and Kiev majors.

Following Resolut1on’s departure from OG in March 2018, Ceb initially became a stand-in player before officially taking over the offlane position for The International in 2018.

OG’s win in this tournament and the team’s subsequent victory in the following year’s event cemented Ceb’s reputation and wealth.

However, in 2021, he announced he was stepping away from competitive Dota 2, admitting that he no longer had the “win-or-die mindset” that had driven his career.

It was also revealed that he had suffered health problems, with two eye surgeries in less than a year, the last of which occurred just nine days before TI10.

A statement from OG declared: “We are infinitely grateful for what the nerdy kid from Lebanon with a dream has grown into and what he was able to show the world. We are very lucky to have you as founder, owner and the heartbeat of OG Esports.”

While many people disappear after retiring and are rarely seen again, that’s certainly not been the case for Ceb. He has regularly returned as a stand-in player over the past four years, with most of these appearances being made for the OG team.

In March 2023, a film was released to mark his return from retirement, ahead of his participation in the ESL One Stockholm Major. Entitled: Greatest Comeback in Dota 2 History: The Return of Ceb, it featured interviews with prominent people and teammates in his life.

This included a revealing interview with Fanny Courtade, Ceb’s long-term partner, who had seen firsthand the toll the gaming world can take on individuals.

She admitted their relationship “hadn’t always been easy” due to his involvement in esports and Dota 2, and revealed that the frantic pace had caused them to split for 18 months.

In May 2025, Ceb announced on X that he was becoming Technical Director at SRG.OG, an esports division of Selangor Football Club in Malaysia.

SRG.OG was established in March this year as part of a co-branding initiative between OG and SRG. The latter’s MLBB team was founded in January 2013 with the acquisition of ELX Esports’ roster.

It was reported that Ceb married Fanny Courtade in 2023. The following year, OG announced on X that he had become a father. 

Ceb subsequently took to the platform to thank everyone for their good wishes. However, very little further information has been shared since then.

While Ceb has many social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook and Reddit, he doesn’t share much personal information and seems to prefer a more private life.

In 2022, Ceb participated in the latest edition of ZEvent, the largest gaming charity event in France, which brings together 50 of the country’s most famous streamers.

Donations went to the Fondation GoodPlanet, a French non-profit organisation that raises awareness about ecological and social issues.

Only four professional gamers have won more prize money than Ceb, according to data compiled by Esports Earnings.

As with the rest of the top earners, it’s been his success playing Dota 2 that has brought him the richest rewards, particularly the back-to-back wins in The International.

He walked away with $2.28 million from the victory in 2018 and $3.16 million the following year when OG clinched consecutive titles.

Ceb’s earnings in other years have ranged from a modest $285 at the start of his career in 2011 to $214,000 from four events in 2021.

Very few esports athletes have made more money than Sébastien ‘Ceb’ Debs. His $5.95 million prize winnings put him in fifth spot on the all-time list.

He’s also found it very difficult to walk away from competitive esports, the profession to which he has dedicated countless hours over the past 14 years.

In addition to serving as a stand-in player for OG since officially retiring in 2021, he became Technical Director at SRG.OG earlier this year.

This position will be a key one within the joint MLBB team established between OG and the Malaysian esports club Selangor Red Giants.
